Kurgan - The Holy Spirit comforts......only Catholics??
This is part of Statement 30 of the conclusion of the Vatican II document "Orientalium Ecclesiarium" Decree on the Catholic Churches of the Eastern Rite. Let them pray also that the strength and the consolation of the Holy Spirit may descend copiously upon all those many Christians of whatsoever church they be who endure suffering and deprivations for their unwavering avowal of the name of Christ. And what is wrong with this statement? NOTHING! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! After all, the Holy Spirit is known as the "Paraclete". Going to the websters 1828 dictionary, we have the definition of paraclete: So, the Holy Spirit is an advocate, supporter, consoler, comforter, and intercessor. Without going through all of these definitions, we can say that the Holy Spirit is a provider of strength and consolation to all Christians in their sufferings and deprivations (loss, bereavement by loss of friends or goods) Just what the statement says.
